TabularParseRule
sealed
Inherits:ParseRule
Parses LaTeX tables for TableModifier: tabular, tabular*, tabularx, tabulary and longtable, on their own or inside table, center, flushleft, flushright, threeparttable and adjustbox environments.
Remarks
Every cell becomes a paragraph of the text, so other rules keep parsing cell content: bold, colour, links and formulas inside cells work as anywhere else. Column specifications take l c r p m b w W X L C R J S D |: @ ! > < *; rows take &, \\ with * and [length], \tabularnewline, \kill, \hline, \cline, \hhline, the booktabs rules, \multicolumn, \multirow and the longtable head and foot sections, of which the continuation head and foot are dropped and the last foot moves under the body. A \caption becomes a paragraph above or below its table led by
CaptionFormat, one number per table. \centering, center and longtable centre the table; \renewcommand{\arraystretch}{x} stretches the rows of later tables, inside its environment only when it stands in one. Inside a table a line break is a space and a blank line a paragraph break, a % comment is dropped, grouping braces vanish and \& \% \{ \} are their characters, as in LaTeX. Malformed input renders as well as it can, each distinct problem reported once: a missing \end closes the table at the end of the text, missing trailing cells of a row stay empty slots, extra cells add columns, and unknown column letters become left-aligned columns. BackslashEscapeRule reads \\ as an escaped backslash ahead of every other rule, so a text holding LaTeX tables must not register it.
